My Soul to Take ★★★

Craven’s emo slasher is pure, nonsensical pulp and entertaining to a fault. There are no characters here, just strident, stereotypical archetypes that spend the entire runtime in escalating shades of angst. And despite its most ardent intentions to come off as dark and brooding, its voice still squeaks when it screams at you in its own ridiculously made-up teen talk. So yeah, it’s all categorically bad, but I still come back to it every couple of years. Gotta have my Fang Time fix.
