The acting is so bad it gave me chills, but the idea is good tough...on right hands it could have beem one of the bests of the year. I think I liked better because I wasn't expecting a horror movie with scary scenes and stuffs but a thriller. The references are good too: Stranger Things, Elm Street, The Shining and classic old teen horror movies.
Iñárritu relied too much on the aesthetic of the movie (which is amazing btw) and delivered a weak storyline compared to its award-winning Birdman, but the film is good and has its high points.
And oh, Dicaprio has 500 other jobs that are more worthy of Oscar nomination than this one.
