Think my previous review did a fine job summing up what I like about this great, great movie (quit that sad job too!)
Will say, I might like it more now? SPW's hazy wide shots are wonders, of course paralleling the dreamy, sedating effects of opiates but also really getting at that deep, bleak cold that characterizes NYC in January/February.
And after watching Needle Park it was hard not to be relieved to not have to deal with disingenuous moralizing or cumpulsions to imclude positive endorsements of law enforcement. Sign o' the times,of course.
