“What’s this war in the heart of nature?”
Been very busy lately so I haven’t had time to watch too much, but a rewatch of The Thin Red Line is always welcome. Still one of the best war, anti-war, and anti-anti war films of all time.
“The plan was to drink until the pain over/
But what’s worse, the pain or the hangover?”
Epic and heartbreaking in every way. Just started getting interested in Kanye’s music recently and this short film to accompany My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is so fresh and inventive. Guess I just gotta wait for Donda now like everybody else 😩
I promised myself that I would not compare this movie to Perfect Blue. And yet... this movie was decent, but Perfect Blue just left so much deeper of an impression on me. Aronofsky really seemed to be on the verge of something with this movie, but his adherence and insistence to be in line with another source material to a staggering degree just felt very wrong to me.
