Godzilla Minus One 2023

A towering follow-up to Shin Godzilla, transplanting that movie's ultimate problem of a government utterly failing each of its citizens into a more obliterated and depressed world where no one came out of the War whole. In terms of its operatic qualities, no other Kaiju film rivals it.
Additionally, I watched 100+ horror movies this year, and I'd be remiss to avoid noting that none of them were scarier than Godzilla Minus One.
