Cameron Clarke’s review published on Letterboxd:
I started my Saturday off by calling out the president of the United States of America on Twitter for explicitly condoning and supporting police brutality. I got lunch on the Upper West Side and walked to the local theater to watch a new movie I hadn't heard of from Kathryn Bigelow with good reviews called "Detroit". This movie is, among many things, about police brutality and the immense lie of white supremacy that allows cops to get away with murder. This movie is, sadly, very timely, and is required viewing for any white person or any person incapable of grasping the terror and tyranny of police brutality. "Detroit" opens nationally August 3rd. Please go watch this well-crafted and heartbreaking story of our broken policing and justice system.
