Clint Eastwood proves in The Mule that sometimes you should quit while you're ahead. I found this film to be slow, and very annoying. Eastwood not only makes his point clear, he drives it into the ground. The tech/internet bashing was beyond repetitive and unnecessary, not to mention the multiple racist comments and actions made in this film. Whether that was a necessary part of the narrative or not, the appropriate follow up to such comments should be a greater conversation about why they were being said. Instead they were just said and left.
I found the film to be too long, and quite frankly boring . There was a handful of endearing conversations between Eastwood and his family members but that is the extent of emotional impact this film had on me.
