I watched this when I was a teenager, but didn't pay very close attention and it lost me. So glad to finally revisit it as an adult. Can absolutely see why it's a classic.
I thought I was about to watch American Pie. It was definitely NOT that.
It's tough to know what to make of this movie. On the one hand, most of its not believable, especially the ending. The sex and violence is also gratuitous.
On the other hand, it's beautifully filmed, non-linear storytelling that poignantly captures the depressive nihilism that undergirds the college party life (all will thr facade of having a magical time). And James Franco is creeeeepy
