”No, there's no government. No police. No Army. No TV. No radio. No electricity. You're the first uninfected person we've seen in six days.”
I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve watched this. I remember it as being right on the cusp of the Zombie revival and one of the first to show fast moving zombies rather than the typical staggering ones we’ve always known. It was also an early adopter of digital video which gives the film a kind of grungy feel.
I love the haunting early scenes of an abandoned London and it was the first time I became aware of Cillian Murphy, who does a great job of carrying the film. Watching it tonight I totally forgot that is was Christopher Eccleston who plays the Kurtz style commander of the scariest monsters in the movie.
”Oh, great, Valium. Not only will we be able to get to sleep, but if we're attacked in the middle of the night, we won't even care.”
