“A story is all about the journey.”
17 years ago I thought Park Chan-wook had made his masterpiece… I was wrong.
Part One: ”Ladies truly are the dolls of maids.”
In which I find myself thinking, wow, this movie's almost as good as everyone says.
Part Two: “Want to go somewhere nice?”
In which my tiny little mind is blown. You’d think by now I’d know that Park’s magic always contains something extraordinary and yet I was so enchanted by the PLEDGE that I totally forgot to expect the TURN.
Part Three: ”Spider thread pulled into strings…”
In which it all comes together in a satisfying PRESTIGE, and I find myself elated to have discovered such a great film. but infuriated that it took me so long to find it.
”You have a week of freedom.
But you must remember the thing in the cellar.”
