I’m still processing this but holy fuck. I don’t know what I just saw. A visual assault on your eyes and ears. Villeneuve has transcended.
This film crushed my soul. From the breathtaking opening scene to the last. This film holds you in and doesn't let go. Michael Seresin shoots the hell out of this with bleak yet beautiful cinematography. The visual effects were scary good, the Apes were flawless, should easily be the Oscar frontrunner. Has Giacchino best work in forever.
While serving as a perfect closing act, it also leaves it open for the series to possibly continue from here. An epic conclusion to maybe the greatest trilogy of the 21st century.
