"Loneliness can do strange things to the mind."
what an nasty shot of monochrome adreadaline. i have a soft spot for this type of deliberate and detached horror, and everything i find creepy about this comes from its depiction of a seriously twisted generational trauma that feels like it infects the frames themselves, like a blood stain that cant be washed out. theres something so matter of fact about how it treats years, sometimes even decades passing, at an unidentifiable point in America that feels like it could be 1950 or 2020. a movie that i cant wait to rewatch but also never see again.
