Wes’s review published on Letterboxd:
i bet edward yang gives really good hugs because this is a filmic equivalent to a truly warm (if bittersweet) one.
my last film for filmstruck, first by edward yang, and 0 days since ive gotten in a sword deathmatch with warnermedia/whoever is responsible for filmstruck shutting down. a film that is so wise about the spaces between humans and families and the inevitable and unexplainable pulls that bring us together. i've almost forgotten what it feels like to watch a movie sears into your heart instead of your brain. such a familiar and unique pain that i welcome every time, because it's when i know i've experienced something life affirming that will only get better with repeat viewings. see you around, kid.
