Another solid entry in the Zatoichi franchise, Flashing Sword is somewhat handicapped by its less emotional storyline. Nevertheless, it features some truly remarkable long fight takes, and a sequence in which Zatoichi metes our justice as a deadly avenger is one of the series’ more bleak passages thus far.
