    Mile 22

Usually enjoy anything Peter Berg is attached to, but this was barely watchable.

Just a choppy, uneven, rambling montage of a film.

Really wanted to like this but found most parts of it too silly with sloppy dialogue and weird characters. Expected better from Shane Black. What a shame.

Haven’t felt this way watching a thriller since Gone Girl.

So well crafted. Ticked all the right boxes for a proper thriller. Not a simple package - this had real female characters getting the job done!

Big performances from everyone (including the pup), juicy storyline and great action scenes.

    Hard to top.

  • Halloween

I like my horror with a side order of humour. Fortunately for me, this had a bucket load of laughs in it.

  • Donnybrook

Frank Grillo is an absolute beast in this flick!

Right now, I can’t think of many other actors out there that flip-flop playing the hero and villain. He plays both so convincingly.

    I need more Grillo.

Will probably be my favourite guilty pleasure flick of 2018.

Jason Statham rocks a turtleneck like nobody’s business.

If you’re a Johnny Knoxville fan, this is perfectly harmless fun. Yes, the Cameron Crowe-lite ensemble isn’t comprised of endearing misfits like the original Jackass crew, but that’s OK. The only real pity is the trailer left no surprises for the full feature.

  • Tomb Raider

Happy that I got to see a slice of the Lara Croft movie I was hoping for (London scenes, the awesome shipwreck/escape action sequences and Alicia Vikander’s performance) but then the dad showed up and it all became rather dull.

If I heard ‘Sprout’ one more time...

    Needs to be rediscovered.

Something I learnt from this movie...

Mel Gibson could direct a Mad Max film.

Something I learnt from this movie...

Mel Gibson could still star as Mad Max.

The trailers didn't excite me at all. I bought my ticket to support Duncan Jones.

Far from the unwatchable mess some would have you believe - I ended up enjoying it way more than the recent Hobbit movies. The plot beats at the end really surprised me too, so I'm interested to see what happens next (if we do get another flick).

Kept thinking Dominic Cooper could've done better though, whereas Paula Patton's Garona kept giving me a funny tingle.

Go see it if you like your Fantasy.
