It was the leisurely paced second act that really won me over. The conversations between our four unlikely heroes whilst on the road to rescue a damsel in distress from Native American cannibals was quite pleasing. Yes, even Matthew Fox. I didn't even recognise Richard Jenkins. Maybe it was the exuberant running time or the fact that it wasn't that visually engaging but I felt the movie was lacking in thrills. The cinematography was at times very distant which didn't help in building the emotional heft that the grisly crescendo was aiming for. A promising debut nonetheless.
