Was a little dissapointed with this one. After how great of a film Get Out was, I was expecting it to be closer to that level. The peformances were excellent as was the cinematography. I still have so many questions after seeing it though. The first half almost felt like a typical home invasion horror, but the second half went all out insane and unique. I definitely feel like I should rewatch it and my grade might change, but I wasn’t blown away.

This was really great! I was surprised by how much comedy was in this. It had me laughing quite a bit! Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali are incredible in this. Ali is becoming one of my favorite actors after seeing his work in True Detective and now this (other things as well, but those were the stand outs for me). I don’t quite think it was “best picture worthy”, but I’m not upset that it won. Still a great feel-good inspiring film!

This was wild! It was a bit slow and I wasn’t really fully invested until the third act of the film. Without spoiling anything, something happens that pretty much made up for the decent first two acts. It’s the type of film you have to watch twice! It’s very dark and sadistic, but if you’re a fan of the genre I recommend it!

This was a strange one. It was serious then randomly tried to be funny. Don’t think it ultimately knew what genre it wanted to be. Entertaining kills and certainly watchable. Just don’t expect much.

    The Descent: Part 2

Completey unnecessary and dumb. The first one was very good and intense. This had none of that tension. Why would the main girl ever go back down in the caves after what happened before. Nobody would ever do that haha. Don’t bother with this one and stick with just the first!

Pretty good film! Although it certainly felt a little more of a “filler” in the MCU than other entries. I like Brie Larson as Carol Danvers even though she seemed a little bland at times. Entertaining moments and good humor! Can’t wait for Endgame!!!

Really strong first half! Perfectly paced and plenty of humor. The second half slowed down a bit, but still was never bored. Excellent performances all around. Very interesting and unique film!

OOFFFFFF... Just watch Die Hard instead. That’s all I have to say.

  • From Dusk Till Dawn

    From Dusk Till Dawn

The first half was really good, then there was this insane shift in tone halfway through which turned everything full-on insane haha. The second half wasn’t bad, it was still a lot of fun, just very different from the rest of the film.

Intense, interesting, and thought-provoking. Not a lot of answers we’re given to explain the plot which made it refreshing due to the fact so many films nowadays spoon-feed us plot points. I feel like “Saw” might have took some inspiration from this one. Was definitely low-budget, but was effective in how tense it was.

My first reaction to this: WTF! What the hell were these parents thinking!? This was a pretty crazy documentary. It was also frustrating, because there were so many times that things could have been prevented, but the parents actions and decisions made things worse...

I surprisingly thought this was better than the 1st! Can’t say that too often about horror sequels. That being said, this still wasn’t a very good film. The acting and directing were better as was the lead being actually likeable. A lot of lines were really cringe. Did not like the direction the plot took, but overall I recommend this one over the 1st!
