Sixteen Candles 1984
I haven't watched this in at least 15 years. Not at all what I remember.
Sure, there plenty that doesn't hold up almost 40 years later (looking at you Asian stereotype, F bombs, and implied date rape) but surprisingly alot does still hold up.
Emotional beats hit, most of the comedy works, it's one of the quirkiest John Hughes films in his filmography

Son in Law 1993
True story. The Pizza Hut in my hometown had one movie poster hanging up as part of their decor. It was Pauly Shore's Son in Law. That Pizza Hut is now closed, but Son in Law will live forever in my heart.
