Waves, directed by Trey Edward Shults, is a riptide disguised as a passing current. It pulls you along for what seems to be a fun ride until you realize you have no control, plunging you under with what little breath you have left in your lungs, adrenaline pumping and thoughts of survival racing. But somehow, the chaos passes and as you swim back to shore in calm waters, you start crying out of the realization of just how lucky you…
Yeah, okay. My first rewatch since the theatre and I have to admit, I loved it more the second time! The fact that Rian Johnson caused such a storm from die-hard fans and shaking this universe to the core now makes me appreciate this movie all the more. It's hard to imagine why this film was a flop during its time. The practical effects is downright impressive. I grimaced and squirmed audibly as the thing just terrorized. It's a film that wastes no time as it capitalized on the fear of the unknown.
THE most fun and grandiose superhero film of 2018! I got goosebumps multiple times! It had everything! And dare I say, it is probably the best rom-com (yes, you heard me) that I've seen in a while. I mean, have you ever had this Korean dish called 'Corn Cheese'? It's exactly as it sounds - its corny and cheesy but so damn good and that's exactly how I feel about this movie.
Having read Geoff Johns' New 52 Aquaman, it…
