Assault in the Ring ★★★½

Slow burn boxing documentary about a boxing match in 1983 in which a trainer and boxer allegedly conspired to cheat by removing the padding from the boxer's gloves, in order to secure a payout from a mobster who put money on the longshot underdog to win. This documentary follows the true events of the night, as well as the fall out for both boxers and the trainer in question over the next several decades, leading to a confrontation and resolution. Low budget and showing its age, but pretty good.
