Willow Maclay’s review published on Letterboxd:
There's something altogether frightening about choosing snakes and bugs to represent gore instead of blood. The scene in question is when the film finally opens up and we know the horror as one kid with a mask falls to his knees, decays in front of a television and from his now tree bark like face erupts spiders, locusts and snakes. Really brings you right down to the elemental horror of the earth. The fact that this movie ends saying "Well, maybe this isn't stopped" makes this even more horrifying.
