Jay D 's Watching’s review published on Letterboxd:
There's a lot of great stuff to chew over (Every moment Wesley Snipes is on screen is...something else) and interesting threads about being marginalized and dreaming of something better, and making a movie yourself-it feels long, but that length works in the service of one of the film's theses I think, which is that making something worthwhile can be a GRIND, and that GRIND has valleys that are inevitable as well as the peaks---and then it has Wesley Snipes and Eddie Murphy in a kung-fu duel to the death, which is something I never expected to see, but am so glad I did.
And I could go for a cut that has an extra hour of Murphy making script suggestions and Key frantically trying to rework his script around them. Or a sequel about Disco Godfather. Either way!
