    The Comey Rule

    ★★★

The Comey Rule is a two part Showtime film staring Jeff Daniels and Brendon Gleeson. It’s about the former FBI director James Comey and his handling of the investigation into Hilary Clinton’s emails and his subsequent relationship with President Trump. The film is based on Comey’s book, “A Higher Loyalty”, which I’d read prior to watching this film. I actually watched the whole thing (3 hours of it) through twice before writing a review, because I was very unsure how…

    Rebecca

    ★★½

Rebecca (2020) is directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Lily James and Armie Hammer. It’s a period drama based on the book of the same name about a newlywed haunted by the legacy of her husbands late wife Rebecca. I haven’t seen Hitchcock’s original, which made looking at this film objectively possibly easier.
The Good: It’s a beautiful looking film. The cinematography is haunting and romantic, as it should be. The set design and costume is immaculate. Clearly great care…

    The Post

    ★★★★½

The Good: This film is completely dialogue driven but it moves like a bullet. I was engaged and interested the entire time. The directing is great, Hanks…

    Marriage Story

    ★★★★★

Marriage Story is directed by Noah Baumbach and stars Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. It is about a couple going through a hard divorce and all the moving parts that come along with that. This film is masterclass in acting and is currently my favorite film of the year.
The Good: This film is incredibly real and honest. It uses long drawn out scenes accompanied by heavy dialogue and drawn out conversation to tell a love story about a couple…
