“Kiss me, my girl, before I’m sick.”
From the moment Day-Lewis took my breath away one last time with Reynold’s fever dream sequence, to the last time the balloons fall in Alma’s dreams, to the moment the words “Directed By Paul Thomas Anderson” faded onto screen, I was certain I was experiencing what is without a doubt a new favorite of mine. I’ve never experienced a film this bizarre and simultaneously (and equally) beautiful. This is the perfect sendoff to another year in film. Here’s to the next one.
