No Time to Die

No Time to Die ★★½

The Craig era ends with a whimper. There are some good things here – the direction is solid and the script is often surprisingly funny. But there's absolutely no reason for this to be nearly three hours long, the franchise's continued insistence that Bond and Madeleine Swann are soul mates is stupid as hell since Craig and Seydoux have no chemistry together, Rami Malek's villain is a total snooze, and the big emotional ending falls flat. Oh well! We'll always have CASINO ROYALE.
