The golden amber of the production and cinematography detracts from the rough edges of the narrative and Gray's characters. The final shot will be with us forever, one for record books.
A film with an abundance of beauty and melancholy. Seems to have been forgotten over the years and I'm not quite sure why. Rewatching it again this week it still blows you away with it's cinematic vision and definitely deserves a place amongst the better films since the year 2000.
