So, is this Scientology?
I absolutely love the monster hunter series; however, this is not what I entirely wanted from its theatrical debut. The monster hunter universe is interesting on it's on and does not need this weird military and real-world plotline added onto it.
The main character with the language gap issue feels so forced and drags the movie's pacing down. This could have been a simple movie about hunting monsters but we don't really get that. The fun of monster hunter is…
Watching and Ranking DCOMs, Time for Starstruck
This movie feels like it was written with two main goals: (1) recycle as many previous plotlines as possible; and (2) launch as many unsuccessful music careers as possible. Luckily, this movie accomplishes both of these goals with flying colors. Also, at some point in this movie, they dive car into a mud pit and it sinks, and they never bring it up again. Like, they legit sink their grandmother's car at it…
Watching and Ranking DCOMs, Time for Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie
This movie misses out on some pretty good vibes. I don't think they needed a massive drama plot. A super fun island adventure plot would have been way more enjoyable, especially considering the fact that the series kept going after this. That being said, the characters in this movie still stay true to their roots and it's still fairly entertaining for the most part. I would have liked…
Imo, this movie has some of the best vibes of any Pixar movie. This is especially surprising since half the movie is about teenagers hunting younger kids with harpoons. It's not the deepest Pixar film but I was happy the entire time watching it, which matters more sometimes. That feel good aspect of this movie makes me feel like I'll be easy more inclined to revisit this in the future, especially in the summer. Definitely watch it if you wanna just chill for a bit.
This movie is underrated and underappreciated. Everytime I watch this movie I gain a greater appreciation for it. The format is unique and creative. It has an amazing balance of light and dark comedy. The story is timeless. The soundtrack slaps harder than almost any other movie. This is easily Shia Labeouf and Zooey Deschanel's best performance, hands down.
I implore you to watch and enjoy this movie. Everyone should strive to be more like chicken Joe, but it's hard to achieve his greatness if you don't watch this movie and experience his greatness first.
