    The set design was probably my favorite aspect of this film. Hazy, overgrown and woodsy, it all seemed genuinely rural. It truly felt like a backwoods, hillbilly horror fairytale during the scenes with the witch. I appreciated the cyclical structure of the story. It gave it this feeling of being complete, kind of like how a fairytale usually ends.

    An interesting bountyhunter-esque take on the vampire genre that I hadn’t quite seen before. I liked how this story takes place in the real world and the vampires exist as this mystical being that quietly lives amongst the common person.     At times it felt all too similar to the first iteration, but some unique and entertaining additions ultimately set this one apart. Bruce Campbell continues to impress me and I love the way he is able to control his facial expressions. Standout scene for me is when he is fighting his own hand that has become possessed and ultimately ends with him trading his hand for the iconic chainsaw we will see in the next film.

    The fact that they got the same actors back to do the sequel is what made this work as well as it did. The chemistry between them all is still spot on, maybe except for Little Rock, which I’m glad they ended up giving a smaller role to.
