High Society ★★★★

"I couldn't possibly break down; I was raised on a pedestal." Grace Kelly in her final film role gets more to do than in most of her other roles (the hallowed Rear Window excepted of course). Hard to believe she was only 26 when she retired from acting.

This is a great sick day movie: Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra quippin' and singin' around a mansion, plus a superfluous but lovely Louis Armstrong performance, in a funny and charming Philadelphia Story/Casablanca rehash that gives everyone a chance to shine.
