Pretty unpredictable. I think it was going for an 80s feel. The first is one of the more underrated horror movies of the last couple of decades, and this is maybe better than the first. This one goes for a very different style than the first; it feels more loose and free since it’s not confined inside one house like the first.
This is basically a slasher, and I’d say this is one of the best modern day slashers, a genre that mostly died after the 80s (of course there were slashers in the 90s and still today, but how many compare to the best is the 80s?).
Honestly I didn’t think a sequel would be interesting and just be derivative of the first, but if you’re a fan of the first I think you’d appreciate this movie.
