Astounding documentary. After watching a film like this, how any person could still think we are the most sentient beings on earth is beyond me.

What an odd, wonderful, compact film. The tempo is so unfamiliar at first that it was a bit jarring but by the end, it seemed so proper and perfect. Like a first reading of Saramago's 'Blindness'. The unsettling sound recordings, the sudden still shots of inanimate objects, the celluloid scratches and skips, all bold and so smart. These choices could have sank such a project but not in the hands of this director. A sea-breeze fresh yet timeless effort.

This is quickly becoming a must-repeat, not quite up with Carpenter's 'The Thing', Darabont's 'The Mist', Bong's 'The Host' and Edwards' 'Monsters', but definitely on the rise.

One of the most contemplative and honest films I've seen in quite awhile. The two main characters bond over architecture while defining then escaping the confines of their own lines and spaces. Brilliantly cast and acted, the movie depicts an America that one hardly ever sees anymore. Refreshing and heartbreaking.
