This is the film all of us wanted in 1993 .... but got that "thing" instead.
Don't get me wrong, it's complete fan service, but a nice easy watching enjoyable ride non the less.

Win It All 2017
Message from this film:
Give a gambling addict a load of money, and they may lose it, but they'll make it back with a little bit extra in the end, aided and abetted by their sponsor 🤦♂️. Not the real world! -

The Lion King 2019
It's unfortunately, for me, removed some of the mischievous, and yet in a way oracular, nature of Rafiki, some of the deceiving, and almost weasely, nature of Scar, and some of the pretentious nature of Zazu, and this is mainly down to the vocal performances, with the remaining down to the script's reduction in the humour.

Green Book 2018
It's fairly well acted, and edited, but I've no clue how it won the "Best Picture" Oscar. It treats the viewer like an idiot, making racial & homophobic issues past tense, and doesn't remotely portray the level of racism and homophobia at the level they indeed even were at the time.

Crazy Rich Asians 2018
Ridiculously predictable, and not remotely original. Stereotypes in all the wrong ways.
The only way this was worth thinking of making to help break the barrier of white domination in Hollywood, unfortunately it could have been done with a much better film, story, acting ... well everything.
It’s like what I imagine Gossip Girl / the O.C. Is like, just set in Singapore. Very disappointing given all the high reviews. -

Annihilation 2018
I don't quite know what let me down with this, or why I'm not seeing the film others are. It's visually excellent, and has some good performances, but even though there is enough of a story there, the end was predictable for me, and I just didn't feel it was ground breaking enough to be a truly quality film.
