Under the Silver Lake 2018
This film is dreamlike with its odd storyline, eccentric characters and the camerawork, it is overall weird and surreal. The cinematography was amazing with some shots that take after classic cinema, the lighting and placement all well done. This film can be interpreted with many different messages to take away from it, I found that it made a statement on the media we intake and how we idolise certain things that weren’t made for us.

It Follows 2014
It follows was very stylistic in all aspects: the cinematography, the soundtrack, the acting. The opening scene is amazing, the tracking shots, the soundtrack building tension and the sounds off screen. The next few shots following are shocking and beautiful with the lighting, cutting at just the right places to introduce what is to come and maybe one of the best film openings. Saw 2004
Pretty cool that it made a whole new horror genre, invented escape rooms and started torture porn. I enjoyed the twists and the dialogue. I wished it stayed in the one room but I guess they had to expand the universe and push along the story. I enjoyed how the story played off and how smart it was. Glad to have finally watched such a “classic” film

Small Soldiers 1998
This was a childhood favourite and it was perfect then and now however goofy it is a classic. The references endless and the animation/cgi done well
