A film of infinite small but significant gestures. The way he places his palm on her over the bedsheet after the first time they have sex, the way he looks at her neck and her arm in the car, every single time they place their hands on each other really... rarely do close-ups work as well for me as they do here..
a film populated by orphans that can barely exist in this world.
and the women.. viola davis especially.. whose every decision, every moral choice (made so quietly almost always without words).. carries such weight.
terrifying film and that ending still haunts...
