Pretty wild that this would land just months after Pam & Tommy, of which it feels very much an LA cousin. (There's even a Hugh Hefner scene - hi, Toby Huss!)
I was shocked how much I didn't hate this and how much story it was able to wring out of an unabashedly surface-level figure. Angelyne's backstory is tragic, moving, and several layers deeper than you'd expect from a weird old lady with a merch trunk.

If you can’t enjoy this for what it is and the sheer amount of stuff it *does*, then I dunno what to tell you. Try to stay out of the discourse about what it means for cinema or whatever. You can see big huge shit like this and then go watch Licorice Pizza the next day, and nobody is stopping you. I know because I am doing that! We really can have it all if we want.
