Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ★★½

Zack Snyder tries to pack so much into this film that it's storytelling ends up going all over the place, there's so much going on that it doesn't really manage to deliver anything. In the end the title conflict doesn't really make much sense and this film could've just been called Batman and Superman. Then there's the final fight/conflict which is just really bad, and almost boring, watching two characters charge towards each other and then crash through a building is fun once, maybe twice, but not for a good 20 or so minutes (I don't know how long it was, but it felt far too long).

Ben Affleck is excellent is Batman, and I'd be able to comment on Henry Cavill had he been given anything to do other than fly up and away or head on into someone. Even in the first half of this movie which is actually able to set things up reasonably well, because it's only focused on how Superman fits in to the world, then the second half happens and it decides to start trying to setup other things, and it just can't do it without becoming confused, and that final action sequence might be one of the worst this year, but then it wasn't that different to every other superhero movie.
