Chelsey Burdon’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not the seminal masterpiece I had been lead to believe that it was but I can see how it might have inspired much of what became known as the slasher genre. Though Sean Cunningham has famously said that he had not seen this film before making Friday the 13th.
Just what you'd expect really, some good kills, not a lot of story. Will probably be most remembered for the brilliant shot as 4 bodies are revealed in a bathroom, and its simply 'WTF' ending.
This was my introduction to Bava and I will certainly now look into watching some of his other films as I can see he is a director with style and a nice knack for building suspense.
