Phenomenal score, some stunning cinematography, killer third act. Really flimsy romance element (uninterested -> married with kid overnight) was just bizarre and unbelievable. Some uneven pacing in the first half made it drag. Too much shirtless James Caan. Wish they’d given his character a morsel of charm to balance the whole raging racist asshole persona.

    But again, that ending …

    Also, Willie Nelson!!!!

I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth v. Michelle Carter

Very interesting documentary. I’d heard about this case before, but I didn’t know it in this depth. Michelle Carter had A LOT of deranged ulterior motives, holy cow.

Absolutely stunning animation that never stops moving. Steampunk 1930s alternate Paris. Charming color palette of rust, slate, olive, fog grey. Talking tuxedo cat sidekick. Cyborg rat with glowing goggle eyes and big antenna. Paul Giamatti voicing the villain. House on Baba Yaga robot feet with a rooster periscope. More cyborg animals, that made me pretty certain I’d give this around a 5 in the end.

I just absolutely loved this movie. It razzle dazzled me.

    I put this on around…

    Dracula: Dead and Loving It

As soon as Renfield appears at the start, it made me smile big remembering how great his character is in this. He’s the star of the movie for sure.

I hadn’t rewatched Dead and Loving It in over 20 years, when it ran on Comedy Central all the time. It’s a really silly parody movie, Mel Brooks’ least liked probably, but I love it.

Would be awesome to see a b&w version. If I had the option, I’d watch it that way
