Lots of varied emotions in this one. I like the overall feel of the film even I don't find this to be one of my favorite Almodovar films. I think the jumping back and forth between flashbacks made me not get into the film as much. However, I also definitely feel like this movie isn't for me, but rather for him, which I love as a concept all of its own. Penelope Cruz is stunning in a quieter Almodovar role. Antonio Banderes shines in a role that I truly had a hard time recognizing him in. As always, the writing and dialogue is perfect. I can definitely see this one as a film I appreciate more as I get older.
