A truly beautiful film in every possible sense of the word. Beautiful direction, visuals, performances, and story. Everything is so meticulously crafted to the point that it could have felt soulless, but it's executed so exquisitely, with every touch felt, every word and what isn't said is heard, and every frame could be hung in a museum. And that score...
This is romance at its best. Intoxicating you with stolen glances across the room, slowly reeling you in just as the two masterful leads do to one another, made all the more lovingly potent by telling a tale of forbidden love in the 1950s.
