Oh hell yeah, I loved this film. Everything about it from the heartfelt tale of Jack Black's fat panda having to learn kung fu to defeat an evil leopard, voiced by Ian McShane no less, to the overall look and feel of the thing, with wonderful Chinese aesthetics and music, and fantastic direction to create inventive action.
Some of the supporting characters are given short-thrift. I had no idea Angelina Jolie provided a voice until the end credits, and more Jackie Chan as a monkey would have been welcome. Top marks for Dustin Hoffman's performance though. And although the morals of believing yourself and following your dreams have been done to death in family films, it honestly doesn't matter a jot when Kung Fu Panda is this much feel-good fun. I'm looking forward to seeing the sequels now!
