Brandon Cronenberg's Possessor has a host of cool ideas, arresting visuals, and really unsettling practical horror and gore, but in spite of really wanting to love this Black Mirror-esque tale I felt its cold, calculating and underdeveloped approach keeps the viewer at an arm's length. It's clear as day what sort of themes Cronenberg is getting at, and his cast are all game, but he doesn't do enough to make you care about any of the characters. Possessor is a film to admire rather than love.
