  ehhhh it had some good comedic moments and i appreciate what it was trying to do but it kinda missed the mark on a few issues and felt problematic. also the timeline of the story feels super weird and this wouldve been funnier if it had done a like "meet the fockers" type of set up where the families interact more, not in a toxic but funny way? like it doesnt really solve the issue of these two families from…

  Mon Roi was something I wasn't expecting. Of course I knew it featured a dysfunctional relationship, but I didn't realize how unpleasant yet intriguing the story would be. I think the use of flashbacks in the plot is magnificent, how her physical recovery parallels her emotional recovery. The doctor kinda gives it away at the start when she emphasizes the pronunciation of "genou" (I thought this was incredibly clever). Nonetheless, the film is unpredictable, chaotic, and familiar, just like the characters it houses, just like the love and life that consumes Tony and Georgio.
