I watched Licorice Pizza on the plane coming back from vacation and it truly uplifted my mood. The relationship between the two lovebirds was one of the most wholesome I've ever seen on screen!

    2001: A Space Odyssey

    ★★★★

Although the effects may not wow me as much, this film was way ahead of its time. I watched the whole thing on a flight and it is admittedly the best way of watching it. During the ending, my plane was experiencing turbulence, which made the futuristic visuals all the more scary. 2001: A Space Odyssey is, without a doubt, a cinematic masterpiece.

The flight I was on had this in its selection along with a whole criterion section. When I tell you I jumped out of my seat during take-off, I jumped! All I have to say is thank you Air Canada.

  • Steve Jobs

    Steve Jobs

    ★½

It was incredibly well made but the monologues were endless. I also wasn’t a fan of the angle in which the movie was crafted. Less of the family drama and more of the actual Apple history would have probably been better. I get that it was an artistic choice to focus on the personal life of Jobs, but it did not interest me much. However, I will have to admit, Michael Fassbender’s acting is phenomenal as always.

  • The Intern

    The Intern

    ★★★

To put it simply, The Intern was great. I was craving something comforting and the light-hearted relationship between Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro delivered with absolute ease. As much as the older generations aren’t quite compatible with the younger ones, I do believe that we all need some kind of archaic wisdom in our lives.
