    Kirsten Dunst is the MVP here but Cumberbatch and Smit-McPhee are strong as well. The cinematography is stunning and Campion’s slow, methodical direction is also a highlight. Out of everything, it’s the subtleties of the screenplay that have me shook though. Everything suddenly clicks in the final scene and places the film in a new light to powerful results. I’m still trying to process it because there’s so much to unpack here, and I appreciate Campion’s creative decision to keep things so subtle for greater audience effect too. One thing’s for certain, I will definitely be watching this again soon. Wow.

    Simon Rex is a big, bright, shining star.
    I don’t know if I’ve ever simultaneously loved and hated a character like his “Mikey Saber” this much before.
