    Objectively a nicely shot film with some Lynne Ramsey-esque attention to detail and moments of economic story telling such as the aArah family receiving abuse shown with a close up of the father holding his sons wrist as he clenches his fist in anger at the abuse. All good stuff.

    5 movies into cinema history and we have two robbery movies (this and Sherlock Holmes baffled). Criminality clearly inspires filmakers even in the early days. Why?
    The first on screen murder on my journey into film history.

    Shot entirely in wides except the famous final moment with the close of of the cowboy shooting at the camera (goodfellas). Watching the robbery’s play out unbroken was hypnotic. Waiting for the robbers to enter an empty frame was tense.
