    The Stepfather

“Wait a minute. Who am I here?”

Ok, I’ll start by saying that I might have a huge crush on stepdaddy Terry O’Quinn when he’s wearing plaid & a full-on girl crush on the cute as fuck Jill Schoelen!
I really love this character-driven psycho thriller, mainly because our stepfather, John Locke I mean Jerry Blake, goes bonkers more than a couple times, O’Quinn plays the perfect psycho and his central performance is creepy, believable and completely unnerving!

    The film is…

  • When a Stranger Calls Back

    When a Stranger Calls Back

    ★★★★½

“Someone has been in my apartment and they've done things, little things, to let me know that he's there.”

Just another example at how awesome sequels can be. Jill Schoelen does not get enough credit, at all, and neither does this forgotten 90s gem. Absolutely loved this and how effectively creepy the killer was with his smooth, yet horrifying as hell voice. From the opening sequence to the final act with that unforgettable killer + paint + wall scene that may have me scarred for life but! it 100% makes up for all the horrible 90s hairstyles.

Really dug this. Like really, really, really did.

    Edge of the Axe

    ★★★★½

“I’m telling you, this place stinks of death.”

Finally, Edge of the Axe gets a bluray release and it’s never looked so good! Thank you Arrow Video for recognizing this fairly underrated hidden gem of 80s slasher goodness.
For me, there’s nothing better than getting the news that a film you’ve been wanting to get a bluray release, does get the treatment and the final result is outstanding.
    I’m happy as fuck.

Edge of the Axe isn’t the perfect slasher…
