A month or so ago, I watched the back half of this movie with my parents. They really aren't big movie fans, but they knew I enjoyed this so they gave it a chance.
During the sequence where Cliff is walking his dog and passes by the car full of Manson family members, Twelve Thirty by The Mamas and the Papas started playing, and I heard my mom across the room say under her breath, "Oh no," and I just thought to myself, "Oh, so that's what movies are supposed to do."
I realize that's corny as hell, but I'm never going to forget that moment.
