I’m taking a tab next time I watch this.
The Lighthouse is without a doubt the best new film of the year. Right from the first shot, you know this is a masterwork. Robert Pattinson as Ephraim Winslow was great, but man whenever Willem Dafoe monologued I was captivated. The cinematography was very claustrophobic, which helped create a greater sense of dread, especially as the end nears. The story might be slight to a majority of people but it’s not always about what’s being said in the film, it’s what is not being said (or seen) that begins to make you wonder.
I truly had no faults with this movie. It’s that good.
