Though the third act can't quite live up to the excellence of the first two, Drew Goddard's structuring of this film's mysteries and handling of its characters still make this film a pretty good time.

Without a willingness to try something different and something new, we would’ve never gotten a film as weird, bold, risky, and brilliant as The Empire Strikes Back — we would’ve gone back to Tatooine instead of Hoth, the Death Star instead of cloud city, hung out with Ghost Kenobi instead of Yoda, spent time with Wedge Antilles instead of Lando Calrissian, and never ever have revealed that the most evil villain in the galaxy is our hero’s dad.
Director Taika Waititi never missed an opportunity to have fun in this film, reimagining the character of Thor in some surprisingly fresh and exceedingly quirky ways. Nonetheless in so doing, we lost something in the process - we lost the character that we'd come to know (and some of us love).
All this to say, I miss Kenneth Branagh.
